At All Saints University School of Medicine, we believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. On World Suicide Prevention Day, we join the global community in raising awareness, breaking stigma, and encouraging conversations that can save lives.
Suicide is a deeply complex issue, often fueled by feelings of isolation, overwhelming stress, or hopelessness. But one message must be clear: you are not alone, and support is always available.
As future healthcare professionals, our students are not only trained to care for the body but also to recognize and respond with compassion to those struggling with emotional pain. Prevention starts with listening, empathy, and the courage to reach out.
This year’s theme, “Creating Hope Through Action”, reminds us that even small gestures—checking in on a friend, offering a kind word, or connecting someone with resources—can make a life-changing difference.
What You Can Do:
- Start the conversation. Asking “How are you, really?” can open the door to healing.
- Listen without judgment. Sometimes, being heard is the first step toward hope.
- Encourage support. Share resources, hotlines, or counseling options.
- Take care of yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup—your well-being matters too.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or professional.
📞 In Canada: Call or text 988 for the Suicide Crisis Helpline (available 24/7).

At All Saints University, we remain committed to nurturing not only future doctors but also compassionate advocates for mental health and wellness.
Together, we can create hope. Together, we can save lives.
